Creative Communities Scheme

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR ART-RELATED PROJECTS

Applications are accepted for financial assistance to groups and individuals who wish to increase participation in the Arts, or increase the range and diversity of the Arts available to the community.

Amount:              $7,173 per annum

Eligibility:              Individuals or organisations may apply

Applications:      Funding rounds are held four times a year, please check the
                             Kaikoura Star to see if we are accepting applications at the
                             moment.

Projects should meet one or more of these criteria:

  • Broad Community Involvement: the project will create opportunities for local communities to engage with and participate in arts activities
  • Diversity: the project will support the diverse arts and cultural traditions of local communities, enriching and promoting their uniqueness and cultural diversity
  • Young People: the project will enable and encourage young people (under 18) to engage with and actively participate in the arts


Examples of eligible activities include:
• events or festivals
• performances or exhibitions
• seminars or workshops

Projects that have been funded in the past include photo and art exhibitions, children’s ‘artfest’,  puppet show, violin tuition, ‘Wannabes’ talent quest, embroidery, pottery, sewing, weaving and cake decorating workshops, and the NZ Ballet performance.
