Council's Statutory Planning function is there to ensure the natural and physical environment of the district is sustainably managed, by ensuring that standards and guidelines set down in legislation and regulations are met, including compliance with our District Plans.
This includes;
- processing resource consents (land use and subdivisions)
- archaeological discovery
- compliance monitoring
- plan approvals
- easements
- caveats
- road closures
- right of way approvals
- planning education and enforcement
It is the intention of this function to provide for the community and individuals to achieve their aims while minimising any negative effects on other people, property, or the environment.
