Building Control Officer
We’re the smallest council on mainland New Zealand. Recognised for its leadership in environmental sustainability, the Kaikoura District Council prides itself on being able to demonstrate that just because you’re small, it doesn’t mean you can’t achieve. Our building team achieved accreditation under the Building Act in 2008.
The Kaikoura District Council has an opportunity for a multi skilled Building Control Officer to become a part of its great team. We are seeking a person that is excited at the opportunity of new changes and new challenges in a fast growing community.
The successful applicant will be a progressive and motivated building control professional or one who is keen to develop building control skills. They will also be helpful, empathetic and have excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritize and manage timeframes, be self motivated, able to work under pressure, have a sense of humour, and be able to be an effective team member. The position could be for a fixed term if it was more suitable to the successful applicant.
