This charge funds the costs of liquor licensing, and environmental health administration that are not already covered by license fees. The license fees are set by legislation and do not cover all costs of this activity.
Council considers that it is those properties that are registered by way of liquor license, food premises license, or hairdresser license, which create the need for this service. However, Council will not rate sports clubs where these are licensed, as sale of food and liquor is a major source of fundraising for our local sports clubs.
Who pays the Registered Premises Charge?
All rateable properties undertaking a licensed activity, such as premises where alcohol is sold or consumed, food premises, or hairdressers.
This is a charge per license (premises with both a food license and a liquor license will pay twice).
See the schedule of adopted rates and charges for the value of this charge in the current rating year. |
