The roading rate and the district planning rate (as follows), are applied to all properties within the district. They are separate targeted rates for the purposes of transparency and accountability, rather than for the purpose of targeting certain categories of land. The Roading Rate is based on capital value.
What does the Roading Rate pay for?
This rate funds the net costs of upgrading and maintenance of the district bridges and roading network. The State Highway (including Churchill Street and Beach Road) is not owned or maintained by Council, but all other public roads and streets, bridges and fords, are.
See the adopted rates and charges for the value of this rate. |
