The Restricted Fire Season that had been in place over the district has now been lifted. FIRES MAY BE LIT IN THE OPEN AIR WITHIN THE KAIKOURA DISTRICT BUT PLEASE BE AWARE OF NEW RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED BY ENVIRONMENT CANTERBURY - YOU MAY NEED RESOURCE CONSENT TO LIGHT A FIRE IN YOUR AREA.
