ORANGE STRONG WIND WARNING - 20 MARCH 2023
FROM MON 6PM - TUES 6AM
MetService has issued an orange strong wind warning for our region from this evening through to tomorrow morning, with strongest gusts up to 120km/hr in exposed areas. There is also likely to be heavy rain, but forecasts are indicating that the rain is unlikely to be at warning levels at this time. Rain will fall as snow above 1000m. Orange Strong Wind watches tend to have the following: Strong wind gusts that could damage trees, powerlines and unsecured structures. Driving may be hazardous, especially for high-sided vehicles and motorcycles.
