What is the rates review?
The Council has been looking at all of the activities Council provides, and thinking about whether it is appropriate that these activities should be funded by rates, or user pays, a combination of both, or whether there might be other sources of funding available.
The period for feedback on the rates review is now closed. We have received 44 submissions, and are currently collating these in preparation for a hearing where submitters will be able to speak directly to the Council on their feedback. The hearing date is currently planned for Wednesday 8th November commencing at 9am. This may change if that date is not suitable for those who have indicated they wish to speak at the hearing.
