Effective 1 July 2026, Kaikōura District Council will transition from the existing Simpli Portal to the Datascape Building Consent Portal.
Please note that from this date, the Council will no longer accept new Building Consent Applications through the Simpli Portal. However, access to Simpli for existing consents will remain available for a period of 90 days from 1 July 2026.
All new Building Consent Applications must be submitted via the Kaikōura District Council’s “Do It Online” portal. You can find the new portal on the KDC website’s main page, top right. Simply click and register.
