There are various COVID-19 financial support schemes available to businesses, depending on your situation.

Overview of support available at different alert levels

All of these COVID-19 support initiatives have eligibility requirements that must be met.

Resurgence Support Payment (RSP)

The Resurgence Support Payment (RSP) is a payment to help support viable and ongoing businesses or organisations due to a COVID-19 alert level increase to level 2 or higher. If your business or organisation is facing a reduction in revenue due to an alert level increase, you may be eligible for the RSP.

A business or organisation must have experienced at least a 30% drop in revenue or a 30% decline in capital-raising ability over a 7-day period, due to the increased COVID-19 alert level.

Applications for the alert level increase announced on 17 August will open at 8am on 24 August.

Leave Support Scheme (LSS)
Information about the Leave Support Scheme (LSS) can be found on the Work and Income website here.
The COVID-19 Leave Support Scheme is available for employers, including self-employed people, to help pay their employees who need to self-isolate and can't work from home. The LSS provides a two-week lump sum payment of either $600.00 per week for full-time workers, or $359 per week for part-time workers, who must self-isolate and cannot work from home.

Short-Term Absence Payment

The STAP provides a one-off (once per 30 days) $359 payment for workers who must miss work due to a COVID-19 test and cannot work from home.

COVID-19 Wage Subsidy August 2021
A wage subsidy will be available to businesses impacted by New Zealand moving to COVID-19 Alert Level 4 on 17 August 2021. It will be available to all New Zealand businesses and self-employed people that meet eligibility criteria. Infromaiton about the Wage Subsidy can be found on the Work and Income website here.

Applications will be open from 9am on Friday 20 August 2021 for two weeks.
