Earthquake Anniversary Concert

SnS logo

Three years on from the 7.8 earthquake, the Kaikōura community has much to remember and much to celebrate.  The entire community is invited to come together on November 14th with food, whanau, music and more.

Headline act New Zealand musician and TV personality Anika Moa will be performing as well as local musicians.

Running from 4pm till late at the Memorial Hall and surrounding gardens, the get together and concert will feature something for everyone including afternoon tea and a guided tour of the refurbished Memorial Hall for the older generation, face painting and children’s games and a potluck supper and outdoor movie (weather permitting).

The event was inspired by the Martin Luther King quote “we may have arrived on different ships, but we are all in the same boat now” and looks to connect people through food, music and fun.

The Violence Free Network is generously contributing to funding the event and several community groups are set to take lead roles throughout the event.
