Smoke 1

Daylight Savings is coming, time to check your smoke alarms are working!

When was the last time you pushed the test button?

If they are older than 10 years you should replace them. Check the date on the rear of the alarm.

There are some options when it comes to replacing them, 10 year long life battery or the standard 9 Volt battery models that require replacing annually.

Fire and Emergencies recommendation is to purchase “Photoelectric Smoke Alarms” with a 10 year long life battery.

These can be purchased from all hardware stores along with other retailers that sell smoke alarms.
