Have your say on Kaikoura District’s future
Kaikoura District residents are encouraged to submit their suggestions and ideas to influence the town’s recovery plan before Monday 16 January 2017
Since the November 14 earthquake an assembled team has been working on four streams of recovery: social, natural, rural and economic. The recovery plan will unite these four streams and create a framework to shape Kaikoura’s growth over the next 10 – 15 years.
Mayor of Kaikoura District Council, Winston Gray, says it’s important that residents share their views. “Recovery isn’t a short term fix – this is about long term strategies and it’s really important that the economic plan we implement is reflective of what residents want to see.”
As part of the economic stream 11 separate sectors have been identified;
- Essential Services
- Professional Services
- Sports Clubs
- Tourism and
To fill in the Survey please click here or submit your suggestions by email firstname.lastname@example.org or paper feedback can be submitted at Kaikoura District Council reception (top floor of the Civic Building).
The feedback will be collated and categorised into themes. This will then be presented back to the community for further consultation in February.
