RED CROSS ANNOUNCES DAMAGED HOMES GRANT FOLLOWING NOVEMBER EARTHQUAKES
Following the devastating 14 November earthquakes, New Zealand Red Cross has announced its first cash grant to assist the households who were hit the hardest by the disaster.
New Zealand Red Cross has a Damaged Home Grant of $1,000 available for households in Hurunui, Kaikoura, Marlborough and Wellington.
The Damaged Home Grant assists households whose primary residence received either a red or yellow sticker, or were required to evacuate their homes (for example, due to risks of landslides, flash flooding and building collapse) for seven days or more following the 14 November earthquakes.
The grant does not include people who were evacuated because of the threat of tsunamis, or who were not required to evacuate but chose to do so.
