Trash Fashion Kaikōura has been going since 1999 and was run yearly until 2006. Organising the show is a massive undertaking, which is why it is now run bi-annually. The Lions Club of Seaward Kaikōura have been able to donate over $100,000 throughout the years. Organisations they have donated to include Oaro Volunteer Fire Brigade, St. John, Westpac Rescue Helicopter, Kaikōura Fire Brigade, Kaikōura Coastguard and Kaikōura Health Centre.
