Pensioner Housing in Kaikoura
We maintain 16 one to two bedroom pensioner flats in Torquay Street.
We prioritize allocation of this housing based on the needs of our residents, medical and personal circumstances are taken into account. A summary of criteria is below, full criteria are in our Eligibility Policy for Housing for the Elderly, listed on pages 5 and 6 of the application form below.
First priority for people who:
- are 65 years of age or over
- do not have personal assets that exceed $30,000 for a single person or $40,000 for a married couple
- do not have interests in or own property
Second priority for people who:
- are 60 years of age or over
- have personal assets of up to $90,000
- do not have interests in or own property
Third priority for people who:
- invalid beneficiaries 55 years of age or over
- have personal assets of up to $90,000
- do not have interests in or own property
Council flats have a no smoking policy. Dogs are not permitted, other pets are by prior arrangement only.
