Current Road Advisory
Due to the heavy rain over the weekend the following fords are closed.
POSTMANS ROAD FORDS at Luke Creek and the Waimangarara are impassable and closed until river levels drop.
CLARENCE VALLEY SOUTHERN ACCESS (Wharekiri) will remain closed until we can clear the ford tomorrow.
JORDAN STREAM FORD currently remains closed as it has been washed out due to the recent heavy rain. Works to reinstate the ford has been delayed due to the stream still running too high. We estimate that we will be able to start work on 9th March. Until then the ford remains impassable and access is via the bridge which is suitable only for light vehicles. We will keep you up to date with progress.
We advise road users in these areas to please use an alternative route where possible. We will keep you updated when the road reopens again.
Parking rules
There are parking rules and along West End and charging for parking in the West End pay and display carpark.
The 60 minute time limit for parking in front of businesses is enforced, with cars who overstay the limit given infringement notices. For the West End "pay by plate" carpark, you will need to know your registration number. The new meters accept EFTPOS and credit cards only (no cash). No ticket is issued. Cars overstaying their time limit will receive infringement notices.
Speeding or unsafe driving:
With the increased traffic on our roads, please take extra care. Drive to the conditions and watch your speed. Complaints should be referred to the police as soon as possible after they happen. You can:
