The weather is holding up, and the recovery efforts are going strong 💪. We hope you are all going well out there. The two houses that were red stickered have now been given the all clear ✅, so that's positive news.

Local Roads
Old Beach Road: Closed ❌
Puhi Puhi Road: Residents only, 4WD access 🚙
Inland Road from Kaikōura to Waiau remains strictly 4WD access only 🚙
State Highway 1
Open ✅; however, travellers are encouraged to check the NZTA Journey Planner before heading away:

Please drive to the conditions and be prepared for delays or temporary stops on Inland Road and State Highway 1 ⚠️.
