Kaikōura Volunteer Fire Brigade is continuing to manage hot spots.

Please remain vigilant and call 111 with any concerns.

Inland Rd is still closed, but Old Beach Rd is now open.

A small number of residents still do not have electricity. Mainpower is working to restore them but this may not be possible before the 29th of October.

Please look after your neighbours.

We are tracking a new weather front for Monday that may bring additional high winds. We will post updates here.

A Mayoral Relief Fund has been set up to collect any donations to assist those directly affected by the fire and high wind events. These funds will be administered by the Mayor and held in a separate Council bank account. Please send all donations to 02-0856-0011698-008, Kaikoura District Council.
