This will be our final community update around the October weather events unless anything radically changes.
The State of Emergency for the District will expire on Wednesday 29th of October.
Ongoing welfare support and recovery activities will continue within our community. For any welfare needs, please contact Jo York on 0220 614 558.
A Mayoral Relief Fund has been set up to collect any donations to assist those directly affected by the recent October fire and wind events.
These funds will be administered by the Mayor and held in a separate Council bank account. Please send all donations to 02-0856-0011698-008, Kaikōura District Council.
One hundred percent of these funds will be used for people financially impacted by the events. Any support is greatly appreciated. We are also incredibly grateful for recent support announced from the Honourable Mark Mitchell Minister for Emergency Management and Recovery to help towards those impacted.
We wish to acknowledge and thank everyone who has helped support our community during this difficult and challenging time.
