What’s Happening?

Fulton Hogan Ltd have been contracted by Kaikōura District Council to resurface various streets around Kaikōura.

When is this happening?

Subject to weather and other unforeseeable circumstances, this work will be completed between 11th of March and 25th of March 2026.

Where is this happening?

• Takahanga Street

• Dover Terrace

• Elms Road

• Koura Bay

• Titoki Drive

• Ward Street

• Weka Road

• West End

• Whaleway Station

What do I need to know?

During this work, some streets and driveways will have slightly restricted entry and exit.

Our aim is to be efficient and minimise any disruptions as much as we can.

We will have our friendly Traffic Management staff positioned at each work site to keep the area safe and assist you with any access needs.

The new surface will remain ‘tender’ for approximately 36 hours after the reseal works. We ask that you drive and park with care during this time to avoid costly and unsightly damage to the new surface.

Loose chip will be present onsite upon completion of work to ensure a well bound finished surface. Our team will inspect and proceed with sweeping when appropriate. This may happen between 2-3 weeks following resurfacing.

The new surface will also shed loose chip as we enter cooler months and during winter, this is normal. Our teams will periodically monitor and remove any excess chip.
