Kaikōura District Council would like to give a massive shout out to everyone who has come in to assist our team over the last week or so and who continue to support us as we move into recovery.

What an awesome bunch of individuals you are!!

You have given up your time away from home and family to support us in our time of need.

The approach has been very different to the earthquakes in that you have come in treading lightly, worked alongside our team, listened to local knowledge and advice, and let locals make the decisions, but you have provided much needed support and experience.

We cannot thank you enough.

The emergency management community is one big family and as a small Council with limited resources we are lucky to have that family support.

Rest assured we will be there for you when you need us!!
