Ocean Ridge Development Area Amendments to THE KAIKŌURA DISTRICT PLAN
In accordance with the Clauses 7 and 8 of the First Schedule of the Resource Management Act 1991, the Kaikōura District Council advises:
A summary of decisions requested by persons making submissions on Plan Change 6 is now available, along with copies of the submissions.
This can be viewed online on the Kaikōura District Council website at
https://www.kaikoura.govt.nz/council/public-notices.
They can also be inspected during opening hours at the:
- Kaikōura District Council reception – 2nd Floor, 96 West End
- Kaikōura District Library – 1st floor, 96 West End
Further submissions
There is now an opportunity to make further submissions on the plan change. The following people may make a further submission:
- Any person representing a relevant aspect of the public interest; or
- Any person who has an interest in the proposed plan that is greater than the interest the general public has; or
- The local authority itself (Kaikōura District Council).
A further submission must be limited to a matter in support of or opposition to an original submission. It must not raise new points of submission.The closing date for making a further submission is 5pm, Friday 13 February 2026.
Further submissions must be lodged using the prescribed form (Form 6) of the Resource Management (Forms, Fees and Procedure) Regulations 2003, which is available on the Kaikōura District Council website at
https://www.kaikoura.govt.nz/council/public-notices. Alternatively, further submission forms can be emailed to planning@kaikoura.govt.nzor hard copies may be given directly to the Kaikōura District Council reception at 2nd Floor, 96 West End.
Please note that you must also serve a copy of your further submission on the original submitter no later than 5 working days after lodging your further submission with Council (required by Clause 8A, Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991).
Following the close of further submissions a report will be prepared on Plan Change 6 and a hearing date will be set and notified to all submitters and further submitters who wish to be heard.
